After travelling to Asia to study tea production techniques, Julien Drouin-Bouffard developed unique expertise in Quebec in transforming fireweed into tea. Fireweed is a common plant in our northern region.
The tea he produces stands out from the herbal teas we're used to because of the processing techniques employed. While herbal teas simply involve drying the leaves or flowers of plants at low temperatures, to produce fireweed tea, the harvested leaves are withered, rolled, oxidized, and oven-dried. The result is a well-rounded, flavorful, and truly unique beverage.
