From “Un Monde de Noix” to “Gourmande boutique”, a beautiful story in constant evolution

First A World of Nuts

At the origin of everything, one observation: nuts are a food that is undervalued. Delicious, nourishing, versatile, they are often neglected. In grocery stores and supermarkets, they rarely get the care they deserve. Kept for too long at inappropriate temperatures and humidity levels, they cannot reveal their full flavor potential.

The project then arose to create a store that would be entirely dedicated to them. In May 2013, after several years of reflection, the Un Monde de Noix boutique was born with its concept of “nut bar” with many varieties. Interest was immediate and the store quickly found many fans.

Then came the Comptoir gourmand du Centro

During the first years of the company's existence, our participation in a number of events in the agri-food sector sparked a growing interest in local products. Close contact with passionate craftsmen inspired us to showcase the fruit of their work. This is how the Comptoir gourmand du Centro was born, a delicatessen dedicated to local products.

June 2016, Le Comptoir opened its doors at 65, rue Wellington Nord, in the very heart of downtown Sherbrooke. Un Monde de Noix is ​​not disappearing and its famous nut bar now stands in our new premises.

In accordance with our convictions, the Comptoir then becomes a member of the Eastern Townships Créateurs de flavors boutique and offers an ever-increasing number of regional products.

Adding the online store

Two years later, Gourmande boutique was born, the online store, which completes the trio and makes the wonderful products of Un Monde de Noix and Comptoir gourmand du Centro accessible to a greater number of people. The store is now able to offer its delights from coast to coast.

A new page being written

2020 is not an ordinary year, it is a year of upheaval but also a year which brings its share of opportunities to be seized. The online store is experiencing great growth. The need for a space better suited to processing orders is felt.

The decision was then made to relocate the physical store to Promenades King , still in Sherbrooke. What's more, this new location has the advantage of being more central and therefore more easily accessible to a greater number of local enthusiasts.

As the store leaves the Centro, the name Comptoir gourmand du Centro is no longer really appropriate and the physical store then takes the same name as the online store: Gourmande boutique .

A few months later, we decided to devote ourselves entirely to our new passion and the nut bar concept was abandoned.

Stopping at nothing (and especially not another move!!!), in April 2023, Gourmande boutique doubled its surface area and moved into a new location in Promenades King. The store space is expanded and the order processing and storage spaces are now up to our needs.

This is where we are today. As you can see, change does not scare us. The key to success is adaptation, they say. And that's truly what we constantly do to ensure we always offer the best experience to our loyal customers. There are still many pages to add to our history and it is certainly with you that we want to write them.
