Sunday afternoon in July, splendid sunshine, slight breeze... Perfect time for a visit to the Ives Hill Estate in Compton.
Lise Pratte and Bruno Salvail, the owners, are waiting for us to show us around their estate. They cultivate blackcurrants there and transform them into gourmet products and alcoholic drinks for the greatest happiness of all. This is also their mission: “To introduce people to blackcurrant in a different way!” ".
Lise and Bruno bought the estate in 2020 and since then, they have continued to innovate by adding new products based on their precious fruits. Cassigria , an astonishing alcoholic drink similar to sangria, is still just as popular, but from 2021, they are launching a new wine, Orsis which, from its first participation in the Canadian Wine Align competition, deserves the mention of the best product of its category. Then came the crème de cassis . They even told us that a new wine will appear very soon.
In terms of culinary products, their offering of blackcurrant products is not left out: syrup , jelly , onion confit , honey , seasonings and more are available.
Are you now well enticed? Please note that the estate is open to all for visits and purchases. You can even have a delicious picnic there made up of their products and products from the region. Ask for the picnic package and sit on the pretty terrace or in the blackcurrant fields.
If you don't have the chance to go to the estate to stock up on their delights, we are delighted to announce that you can purchase several of their products at Gourmande boutique , online or at the physical Promenades King store in Sherbrooke.
