The Magog-Orford Harvest Festival is currently in full swing. I am always happy to go there to discover new products (watch for our next blog article on this subject) and to greet several of the suppliers of the products you find at the Comptoir gourmand du Centro (now Gourmande boutique ) .
This year was no exception. So here I present to you some of those I met yesterday during this unifying event.
Some producers from our prolific region, the Eastern Townships
Frédérick Martel-Leech from Bury from Les As du fumoir was on hand to present his range of artisanally smoked seasonings. These are unique and original products that you absolutely must discover. Its smoked honey is truly astonishing.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Sandra Fontaine from Ducs de Montrichard . Its terrines, rillettes, foie gras crème brûlée are so popular. Have you ever tasted Toulouse cassoulet? A delight!
Other producers Flavor creators Eastern Townships present: Petit Mas and its garlic flower products as well as Abbaye Saint-Benoit-du-Lac whose cheeses no longer need presentation.
Other regions of Quebec also well represented
Very close to the Eastern Townships, Montérégie is also full of good producers. One of my favorites is definitely Croque Cerise . The small business grows morello cherries and transforms them into delicious spreads and onion confits. Cherry lovers like me simply can't resist it.
The Quebec region, more particularly Île d'Orléans, was well represented by Jean-Pierre Langlois and his partner who came to showcase his wide range of Délices de l'Île d'Orléans products. Jams, fruit butters, terrines, onion confits, herbal teas, etc., it's difficult to make a choice, so why limit yourself?
Finally, just outside Quebec, the superb region of Côte-de-Beaupré sent us dynamic representatives from Ferme Québec Oies. This small company offers a production that is both rare and artisanal, goose foie gras.
Did I make your mouth water? You have one weekend left to go to the 2018 edition of the Harvest Festival . This actually continues on September 8 and 9. If you don't have the chance to go there, I invite you, in this case, to come and take a look at the Comptoir gourmand du Centro (now Gourmande boutique ). It will be our great pleasure to present the products of each of these companies to you.
In my next article, I will share with you my favorite discoveries this year, the products that will be added to the store's offering.
See you soon!
